Lamlash is just 3 miles south of the ferry terminal. It is a village of historical importance in Arran and home to many of the islands longest established services. The bay, a sheltered and natural harbour has catered for its maritime users for many decades. Paterson Arran has its main production and retail outlet in the village and there are a many places to eat and drink along the seafront. The Ross Road, Arrans only single track road (and therefore bus-free) connects to Sliddery from Lamlash and the views of Holy Isle and the sea are worth the 9 mile cross-country trip. Lamlash is also the starting point for a visit to Holy Isle, the Buddhists retreat, access to this nature reserve is strictly through the official ferry from Lamlash. |

Visitors enjoy access to the 8 acres of Whiterock grounds to spot birds, red squirrels and explore the rocky beach accessible via a smugglers path. There is a shower, toilet, open plan kitchen, living room/ diner, a wood burning stove, patio doors and a separate front door. Proprietors are both working artists and Whiterock Cottage and garden display original paintings and sculptures. TV, HI-FI, DVDs, CDs, books, games.
